DIRCK K. BARTLETT

Dirck K. BartlettDIRCK KEYSER BARTLETT is serving his first term on the Talbot County Council. Mr. Bartlett was born in Baltimore, however, his family has roots on the Eastern Shore dating back over 300 years when Thomas Bartlett arrived in Talbot County. He attended the Gilman School in Baltimore graduating in 1982 and received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. Upon graduation from college in 1986, he joined his family’s construction company which was formed in the same year. For the last 20 years he has worked for Ilex Construction & Woodworking, a firm that has offices in Maryland and Virginia and specializes in home renovation and the construction of custom architect-designed homes. Mr. Bartlett is married to Christy Pickford who grew up in Bethesda and moved to St. Michaels and graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1976. The Bartletts have two children, Peter and Katherine, who are 11 years old. Mr. Bartlett is past president of The Talbot Preservation Alliance, Citizens for Sound Growth, and The Talbot County Historical Trust, Inc. He has served on the Board of Historic Easton and currently serves on the Talbot County Historical Society Board.
