All Talbot County Parks and Recreation events, activities and public skate are cancelled on Monday, February 8, 2010 due to inclement weather conditions.
The Talbot County Department of Parks and Recreation (TCDPR) welcomes you to enjoy the finest natural resources, recreational facilities, and programs available on Maryland's Eastern Shore. We are responsible for the public recreation programs, and for the maintenance, procurement, and development of county-owned recreational facilities. TCDPR also operates the Talbot County "Hog Neck" Community Center, George Murphy Community Pool, Bay Hundred Community Pool and manages 13 public park sites and 29 public landings.
Our Mission
The Talbot County Department of Parks and Recreation strives to provide programs, resources, and facilities focusing on supplemental educational, recreational, and cultural opportunities for all to participate in, leading to an active and healthy lifestyle. The Department understands that in order to fulfill its mission we must focus on customer service efforts towards promotion of health, preservation of open spaces, utilizing practices that are environmentally safe, and providing outstanding management of all facilities. These are the standards the Department operates by in order to provide residents and visitors with the finest program on Maryland’s eastern shore.
