Weather
Talbot County Department of Parks and Recreation strives to provide our community with safe recreational areas for families to enjoy. In an effort accomplish this goal we follow strict Federal, State, and Local guidelines. Our community pools are exposed to outside elements which could pose a threat. Please read the following safety statements/guidelines we follow when we have inclement weather.
Swimming is NOT permitted when:
- The main drain in the deepest area of the pool is no longer visible from the deck
- A staff member hears thunder or sees lightning
- We receive a direct phone call from the Emergency Operations Center. (EOC is linked to the National Weather Service, which informs us of severe weather watches and warnings.)
- No one is permitted to take a shower or have contact with any water source
Swimming will resume when:
- EOC gives us the "all clear"
