Community Open House and Public Meeting Cordova Village Master Plan

Tuesday, August 20, 2019.  Visits and conversations followed by a public open house starting at 5:30 PM and a formal presentation beginning at 6:30 PM.

The Talbot County Department of Planning and Zoning will initiate a master land use plan process for the Village of Cordova with an August 20, 2019 Public Meeting. The plan will identify existing community challenges, needs and desires, and explore potential development, safety, economic and enhancement opportunities consistent with the existing character and vision for the Village's future. Community involvement is an essential part of the planning process.

The Cordova Village Master Plan grew from the 2016 Talbot County Comprehensive Plan, which recognized the diverse character of the County's 22 villages and recommended village master plans to help guide new development. This plan is the first under the recent zoning code amendments that revised development requirements in villages.

On Tuesday, August 20th, the planning team will spend the entire day in Cordova, exploring the village and meeting with residents, businesses, and officials. There will be a public open house starting at 5:30 PM and a formal presentation and opportunities for the public to ask questions and provide input beginning at 6:30 PM.

The day will include blocks of time for members of the public to "drop in" at their convenience, discuss the project, and give input to planning team members. All meetings will take place at the Cordova Volunteer Fire Company Hall, located at 11864 Kittys Corner Rd in Cordova.

Additional opportunities for input will be provided as the process continues. A final draft Master Plan is expected by the end of 2019.
