Training Coordinator

Summary:
This position will develop, instruct, organize, and coordinate training for employees. The training coordinator will also maintain training records and ensure employees' credentials/ licenses are current and without lapse. The coordinator will be required to attend various meetings and work closely with MFRI, MIEMSS, Chesapeake College, and other training partners. The training coordinator will chair the Talbot DES Training Committee and will perform other related duties as assigned. This position may be required to operate as a field provider occasionally.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates computers and electronic devices such as tablets, cell phones, and radios
- Communicates orally and in writing
- Develops and presents training to DES and related agency personnel
- Prepares lesson plans and audio/ visual aids
- Manages appointments and training schedule
- Administers testing and evaluations
- Maintains training records and reports
- Completes and files pertinent state, local, and county reports and related documents
- Occasionally provides public education
- Occasionally responds to incidents
- Performs other job duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Progressively responsible fire department/ EMS department experience, some college desirable
- Certification of EMT-B or higher
- Valid Class C Maryland Driver’s license
- EVOC
- NIMS 100,200,700,800
- Certified CPR Instructor
- Certified MICRB Instructor
- MFRI Instructor II or equivalent
- Some qualifications may be extended to 12 months after hire

- Frequent lifting and/or moving objects more than 100 pounds is required.
- Must have good close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception and must be able to adjust focus. Vision can be corrected with contact lenses/eyeglasses.
- Must not suffer from claustrophobia.
- Ability to perform physically exhausting tasks associated with the position.
