On Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Talbot County Sanitary District (Sanitary District) was notified by a County Inspector that the ditch adjacent to the intersection of St. Michaels Road (MD Rt. 33) and Royal Oak Road (MD Rt. 329) was damp despite there no rain for several days. There was no other evidence of a sewer leak. Read more

Upcoming Road Closure for Culvert Improvement on Goldsborough Neck Road

The culvert at the intersection of Goldsborough Neck Road and Glebe Road will be replaced in early February 2024. Starting on February 19th, (weather dependent), Goldsborough Neck Road will be closed to all traffic, and the road will need to remain closed for up to 30 days. Maryland Transportation Secretary Paul J. Wiedefeld and other representatives of the Maryland Department of Transportation met today with Talbot County officials to discuss the department's six-year Draft FY 2024-2029 Consolidated Transportation Program. The plan calls for a $21.2 billion, six-year investment to create a safer, cleaner, efficient and accessible transportation system connecting Marylanders to jobs, schools, recreation, health care and services. Repairing Talbot County’s Leeds Creek Bridge

Two Talbot County foremen, Mike Potter, at left, and Taylor Lowery, finish working on the Leeds Creek Bridge, which was constructed using timber in the 1960s. It needs frequent maintenance, and there have been meetings to consider replacing the wood with asphalt. On Thursday, five workers replaced nine wooden planks. Read more
