County to Celebrate Talbot Day

Talbot Day is celebrated on April 25th, marking the birthday of Talbot County, Maryland. The County Council approved a proclamation designating this special day in 2023.

Talbot County is located in the heart of Maryland's Eastern Shore. Founded around 1661, it's named for Lady Grace Talbot, sister of Lord Baltimore and the first proprietary governor of Maryland.

Today, the county is home to the charming towns of Easton, Oxford, Queen Anne, St. Michaels and Trappe. With more than 600 miles of shoreline, Talbot County is a terrific place to live, work and play.

    Classes are held at Wye Oak Room of the Talbot County Community Center, 10028 Ocean Gateway, Easton, MD  21601. Participants must pre-register for classes.

    Classes are $35 and the fee must be paid first at the Talbot County Finance office. Your receipt of payment will be your ticket into the class; you will not be able to attend the class without your receipt. 

    The Finance Office can accept cash or checks made payable to 'Talbot County, MD'
