Projects and Events

The Commission on Aging hosts a series of events each year, and works on several long-term projects designed to serve the aging community of Talbot County.

What We Do

  • Advocacy & Education

The Talbot County Commission on Aging is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors through education and advocacy. We provide a range of programs focused on:

    • Health & Wellness
    • Lifelong learning
    • Empowering seniors to stay informed and active in their community

Through partnerships with local organizations, the Commission ensures that seniors have access to essential resources, workshops, and educational opportunities tailored to their evolving needs.

  • Senior Resource Fair

Held annually, the Senior Resource Fair offers various valuable services and information for seniors and their families.

The fair features a variety of essential services and activities, including balance checks, A1C tests, Hepatitis C tests, HIV tests, medication disposal, raffle prizes, and giveaways. Representatives from local vendors and members of the Commission on Aging are on hand to answer questions and provide information about available services in the area.

    Next Date

Our next resource fair will be on May 21, 2025. Stay tuned for more information.

  • Senior Supply Drive

Incontinence affects over 60% of women, and 25% of men. About 30% of Talbot County's population is age 65 and older. This is the highest percentage of seniors of any county in the state.

The Senior Supply Drive helps fill in the gaps for low-income seniors when they have an immediate need for incontinence products but do not have the means to purchase them.

Donations are distributed to Talbot County residents through the Department of Social Services, Health Department, and Maryland Access Point.
