Talbot FiRST™ brings together multiple agencies and partners to support the mental health of all its first responders in Talbot County − launching a robust peer support team that creates a pathway for immediate access to For All Seasons’ trauma-certified mental health services and works intentionally to build in proactive resiliency training. Talbot County Implements Burn Ban Effective October 25, 2024

The Talbot County Council has enacted an Administrative Resolution imposing a complete ban on all open-air burning throughout the county. This burn ban will take effect on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. and will remain in place for 30 days, expiring on Sunday, November 24, 2024 unless extended or terminated by a subsequent resolution. Brookletts Place – Talbot Senior Center Parking Lot Expansion Project

Talbot County is pleased to announce the completion of the parking lot expansion project at Brookletts Place – Talbot Senior Center. Thirteen new parking spaces along with stormwater management features and new plantings were included with the capital project at a cost of approximately $230,000 which also included land acquisition costs, engineering, and permitting through the Town of Easton. Talbot County Courthouse Water Damage

On Sunday, December 19, 2021 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Talbot County 9-1-1 Center received a fire alarm notification from the Talbot County Courthouse, 11 North Washington Street, Easton. Upon arrival, fire units from Easton and neighboring fire departments found that a computer located in the Clerk of the Court’s office in the North Wing had caught fire which activated the sprinkler system in that area of the building. Talbot County Government Issues Request for Proposals for Removal of Talbot Boys Monument from Talbot County Courthouse Green

The Talbot County Council, at their September 14, 2021 meeting, adopted an Administrative Resolution entitled “ADMINISTRATIVE RESOLUTION OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF TALBOT COUNTY AUTHORIZING THE RELOCATION OF THE TALBOT BOYS STATUE.” The Administrative Resolution authorizes the relocation of the entire Talbot Boys Monument from the Courthouse grounds to the Cross Keys Battlefield near Harrisonburg, Virginia and the County Council has directed County staff to carry out the provisions of this Administrative Resolution. Talbot County Residents Receive Flood Insurance Rate Discount

Effective October 1, unincorporated areas of the county were designated Class 7 by the Federal Insurance Administration’s Community Rating System (CRS). As a result, homeowners will receive a 15% discount on their insurance premiums, an increase of 5%. Talbot County was previously designated Class 8, which gave policy holders a 10% discount.
