Upcoming Road Closure for Culvert Improvement on Goldsborough Neck Road

01/22/2024

Category: Public Works

UPDATED - Road Closure will now begin on February 19, 2024.

Weight Limit Road Closure

The culvert at the intersection of Goldsborough Neck Road and Glebe Road will be replaced in early February 2024.

Talbot County Department of Public Works has contracted with David A. Bramble to complete the work.  The project will include replacement of the failing corrugated metal culvert with a reinforced concrete culvert, widening Goldsborough Neck Road by a length of 350 feet to accommodate a left turn lane for southbound traffic from Goldsborough Neck onto Glebe Road, and a modest 2-foot shoulder on each side of the road.

Starting on February 19th, (weather dependent), Goldsborough Neck Road will be closed to all traffic, and the road will need to remain closed for up to 30 days. Drivers should expect to follow detour directions.

A copy of the detour map has been included. In addition, to assist drivers, vehicle message boards will be installed at Airport Rd./Goldsborough Neck Rd., and Glebe Rd./Goldsborough Neck Rd. to alert incoming drivers.

Talbot County Department of Public Works and the Roads Department work to ensure safety is maintained in work zones for construction crews and motorists. Drivers need to stay alert and focused, pay attention to reduced speed limits or road closures, and slow down when driving through construction zones.
