The Talbot 250 Commission will hold its first official meeting on April 21, 2025 as the County begins preparations to celebrate its 365th anniversary and the nation's 250th anniversary in 2026.
Appointed by the Talbot County Council, the Talbot 250 Commission is charged with organizing and promoting programs, events, and initiatives that honor the County’s rich history and diverse heritage. The commission will work closely with community partners, historical organizations, and local governments to create opportunities for residents and visitors to reflect on the County’s past while envisioning its future.
“Talbot County has a deep and fascinating history, and this milestone anniversary gives us a chance to celebrate the people, places, and events that have shaped our community,” said Sarah Kilmon, Communications Coordinator and Administrator for the Commission.
The first meeting will take place at the Talbot County Courthouse in the IT Conference Room, and the public is encouraged to attend. Future meetings will be held regularly and will be posted on the Talbot250 website.
