Talbot County’s growing senior population faces increasing challenges in finding safe, affordable housing, particularly for residents with limited incomes.

In a recent Spy interview, Nancy Andrew and Jennifer Marchi of the Talbot County Senior Citizens Task Force discuss senior homelessness and housing insecurity, including long waiting lists for affordable housing, limited emergency options, and challenges navigating available services.

The Task Force is exploring ways to better support seniors as they age, including improved coordination of services, additional affordable housing options, and the feasibility of a year-round, low-barrier shelter.
