The event will take place on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., and will feature a 31-minute screening and a live panel discussion exploring what it means to serve: 250 fifty years ago and now. Easton Police Department, Talbot County Sheriff’s Office join forces for Talbot Optimist Club’s ‘Shop with a Cop’ event

On Saturday, December 6th, Easton Police Department and the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office came together for the Talbot Optimist Club’s annual ‘Shop with a Cop’ event. This event has police officers pair up with local youths from Talbot Mentors to assist them on a shopping spree for holiday gifts for the youths and their families. Read more
Vanhooser Named Maryland Tourism Person of the Year

In a room filled with Maryland’s most accomplished tourism leaders, Cassandra Vanhooser, director of the Talbot County Department of Economic Development and Tourism, was named the 2025 Maryland Tourism Person of the Year on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Maryland Travel and Tourism Summit in College Park. The Talbot County Council met on November 25, 2025, to recognize outstanding public service, issue key proclamations, and advance several important County initiatives. Highlights included honors for 9-1-1 Specialist Hannah Ward, proclamations on Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month and the Festival of Trees, action on Resolution 235, and public hearings on Bills 1621 and 1622. Talbot County to Hold “Skate Out Hunger” Charity Skate on November 15 at the Ice Rink

The Talbot County Council recognized Operation Green Light for Veterans, received updates from the Maryland Environmental Service and the Health Department, and celebrated 25 consecutive years of national financial reporting excellence. Council also introduced new legislation on alcohol dispensary bistros, referred a cannabis zoning amendment for review, and re-elected Council President Chuck Callahan and Vice President Pete Lesher.
